40 Days Till 40 (Day 2)

MISCELLANEA

After a relatively restless sleep (see what happens when one falls asleep to Buffy reruns?), I got out of bed before dawn.  Having turned off my heater some time in the middle of the night, it was über-frosty.  Nonetheless, I padded into the restroom, contemplating how my hair always looks like a crazy punk rock Flowbee accident the next morning after getting it cut.  A cotton candy-colored punk rock Flowbee accident today.  Bed head indeed.

I wandered back to my room, fighting the urge to crawl back in bed (S-s-so c-c-cold!).  Instead I got dressed, grabbed my laptop, cranked up the iTunes (hence the laptop) and started cleaning the downstairs of my apartment.  Thank goodness.  It totally needed it.

By 9am I am SO over cleaning.  Having logged a solid three hours, it looks passable, but certainly not finished.  Man, I have a lot of crap.  Maybe 2014 will be the year I finally pare down my belongings and have that clean minimalist abode of which I’ve always dreamed?

Probably not.

But at least I have good tunes.  Nothing like an 80s dance party/cleaning session (Yeah!  “Wild Boys!”) to get the blood pumping.

Now I am hungry.  Like the wolf.  Oh yeah.

Several Hours Later….

Despite a brief interruption for a spirited discussion to extol the virtues of tater tots (ah, actors), I had a great rehearsal today for a Shakespeare show I am directing.  This show has been a fun one thus far…And I do love getting paid to be bossy…uh, er, I mean, getting paid to ask my actors kindly to do all manner of crazy things (“Of course you should do a musical number in iambic pentameter!”) for the sake of “Art”.

Man, that guy “Art” is lucky.  Everyone loves him.  Ha.

On a completely other, more random note:  I have decided my new hairstyle makes me feel like Drew Barrymore.  Not because she ever had pink hair, but because she is sassy, bright and fun.   I just want to adorn my hair with little flowers or tiny barrettes.  Not that it needs any more adornments…it’s pink!

And that’s about all the revelations today.  Nothing earth shattering, but sometimes life just, well, is, isn’t it?  Just a series of moments strung together in a random pattern, hopefully held together with laughter and joy along the way.

Until tomorrow then....
